Are you saying that nothing you type is echoed to the screen?

I have mgetty set up and it's working fine.  I don't know what your
problem is, but here is my entry:

s0:2345:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty -n 1 -x 3 -s 38400 ttyS2
