1. I think I may just have my PPP problem solved. My dad finally
got his computer working, and I just tried ppp-go, and as far as I can
tell, it connected. Because at his work, they have an ISDN line with
limited hours a month, he put a blackout on so that it won't connect
during the times they don't want it on so that they don't lose money. I
can still connect, just not do anything at those times. That is why I'm
not completely sure it worked. Tomorrow I will try and see how it does.
Here is the section of /var/log/messages that happened. Also note that I
don't think that I made any changes on my system, so it must have been
his end that had the trouble.

Now my question is, what is the "local IP address" that it shows there?
Where did it come from? Also, can I access network drives and resources
with this setup?
2. Because I will be setting up my computer (when we find out what is
wrong with it. All individual components work in another system, we are
trying to find out which don't work together. I am putting the system
together from scratch, not bought together), and because it will also
have Win95, I am trying to learn how to use LILO. Although I know it has
been recommended to use loadlin for UMSDOS systems(Note, the system I am
on now is UMSDOS. I plan on giving it it's own partition on the system I
am setting up.), I am trying to set up LILO on this system. It tries to
boot it but gives messages about read-write access and that I need to
mount it with it. How do I configure LILO to do this?
3. My result based on my distribution post is that I will keep Slackware
on this system unless the rest of my family decides to remove it after I
set up mine, and that I will try Debian 2.0.2 on my system. If I don't
like it, I can always install Slackware onto it instead.I plan to order
from lsl.com, and I think that the $2.95 price tag isn't bad for 3 CD's.
Thanks to all that answered this post.
