[ale] Problems with ppp?

  My machine has been acting rather funny recently.  I have an external
USR-sportster-28.8 on ttyS0.  I'm trying to change my dial up scritps
a bit.  My current setup is alot like the "ppp-on" script, but it doesn't
seem to reset my modem correctly and hangs the modem after use so I have
to reboot.  The new script uses the pppd calling the connect script.  It
looks nice upto this:

And I get this constantly.  Anyone have any ideas?
