Matlab is required for a class I'm taking next semester. Matlab is
available for many UNIX platforms. But you have to use Win9X or Mac
for the student price. What in the hell is going through their heads?
They don't tell you what the price of regular MATlab is; since you
have to contact them I'm going to guess that it's outragous.
Can anyone tell me why this is? Are they attempting to implement a
clue tax? Mathmatica and Maple are available for Linux, as well, and I
know for a fact that Mathmatica charges *less* for the Linux version.
