[ale] CD-ROM and Games (Again)

Now that I have installed the network package, I got access to
the mail program which includes an introductory message. It mentions that
you can load the CD-ROM from a module instead of recompiling the kernel.
This would be preferable, as I don't know what settings my current kernel
has or even if I have the kernel source installed. My question is, what
values do I set in there to set up my CD-ROM which as you remember came
in the Creative Labs Sound Blaster 2X bundle. Second, I mentioned that I
had trouble getting some games to work before. Is it possible that I need
a Makefile to compile them? If so, was it supposed to come with it or am
I supposed to create it? The file includes many strange characters such
as @@@@@@@@@@@@ repeating. It also has comprehendible text some of which
references a makefile. Am I supposed to create one from what it says?
