[ale] multi-platform text UI package?

Hello,

I would like to write a simple text database utility for DOS and Linux in 
C, C++ if needed. I would love to have a screen user interface package 
similar to the Turbo Pascal/C TurboVision kit that came along with the 
compilers for DOS apps.

Any ideas?
