	Whoa. WHOA!

You are talking about two different things here! If it's
hooked up to an IDE port you should NOT be using the mcd driver! Use the
ATAPI driver. One person has a Mitsumi connected to a 4th IDE and added
hdd=cdrom. He is NOT using the mcd driver at all. That's an IDE cdrom and
going through the IDE ATAPI interface. Another person is claiming that
they have been unable to get their mcd driver to work (and those addresses
certainly agree with that). I would suggest that they ALSO may have an
IDE ATAPI CDROM and need to configure for that.

The mcd driver is for the Mitsumi interface and NOT for the Mitsumi
IDE CDROM. The mcd driver is only for NON-ATAPI NON-IDE drives.

	1) Make sure you have a kernel supporting the secondary IDE interface.

	2) Make sure you have a kernel supporting CDROMS on the IDE interface.

	3) I've seen systems with the CDROM connected to the second port
(primary, slave, /dev/hdb), the third port (secondary, master, /dev/hdc),
and the four (secondary, slave, /dev/hdd). Watch you boot-up messages
as the kernel comes up (or run dmesg). What does the kernel report on those
interfaces. It will tell you if it has two interfaces and it will tell you
if it detects a CDROM on them.

Won't help if the CDROM is connected to the IDE port. If it's a
Mitsumi interface then this should work. HOWEVER! I/O 0x170 IRQ 15 are
the values for the secondary IDE controller and you should NOT be using the
mcd driver! Configure two ide interfaces (if you don't already have them!)
and work it that way.

You are definitely short on swap space! My rule of thumb is to
allocate at least twice the swap space as real memory and make sure memory
is reasonable. How much REAL memory do you have. Add that plus your swap
space and that's your virtual memory. I don't think I'm configuring anything
with less than 64Meg of swap anymore... Kernel compiles do eat memory too...

	Can't help. I never use dip... :-)
