PPP 2.2.0e compile problem

Hello,

I'm attempting to setup ppp 2.2.0e on a Slackware 3.0.0 system running
kernel 1.2.13 (elf). When I recompile the kernel for the new ppp module,
I get the following:

gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linuxelf-1.2.13/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -m386 -I../../net/inet -c ppp.c
In file included from ppp.c:108:
/usr/src/linuxelf-1.2.13/include/linux/ppp_defs.h:99: parse error before `ext_accm'
/usr/src/linuxelf-1.2.13/include/linux/ppp_defs.h:99: warning: data definition has no type or storage class
[...]

which results in a cascade of errors, and causes the compile to bomb.
ppp_defs.h is the original copy shipped w/ ppp-2.2.0e, as installed by
the 'make kernel' command.

I've checked the header file for obvious typo's, but didn't find anything.
I'm guessing that this is somehow related to ppp 2.2.0e expecting all
1.2.x kernels to be a.out, while mine is ELF. I've looked through the
kinstall script for clues as to what I should do differently, but haven't
had any luck.

Any ideas/thoughts/suggests/threats welcome
