Diamond Stealth 64

Ok folks. This should be an easy one. What chipset driver do I use with a
Diamond Stealth 64 with 2MB DRAM ?  I think its the S3 chipset but I'm not
sure. The reason I ask is that I'm helping to install X windows for a
friend. We have an old a.out distribution of linux (kernel 1.1.59) and we
are trying to upgrade just the X windows portion. Is this possible.
