}> I was wondering how 'dangerous' the 1.3.* kernels are? I've been considering
}> upgrading to one of them, but was concerned about the state of them. Any
}> comments?
}>
}
}I generally try to keep up with the nerwer kernels. I had some minor problems
}with 1.3.8x, but that has all been worked out and the .9x kernels are working
}great.
}
}> Also, has anyone ever had two separate versions of Linux on the same box?
}> I don't see any reason why it couldn't be done. I thought I might create
}> another Linux on some unused space I have so that I could get an elf 1.3.*
}> running. Any reason this couldn't be done?\
}
}I also do excatly that. I keep an older kernel around just incase the new one
}is screwed up and I don't detect it until too late. All you do is make the new
}kernel and copy it to /vm.<whatever_you_want>, then edit lilo.conf to match.
} If you want more details on this, let me know.
Actually, I was thinking more of two separate bootable Linux partitions...
