My laptop has a 4k capable screen so the standard boot up terminal font is
microscopic. Lucky me I have a jewelers loupe. It seems the old school
pixel counts are insufficient on a screen that's several multiples of
640x480 :-)
I fixed it at some point and broke it again with some later tweak attempt.
There's an initial grub screen that's totally unreadable and that's what I
messed up. But the terminal fonts afterwards are readable. In my copious
spare time I'll fix the grub fonts again.
