[ale] [EXTERNAL] IP over USB

Our windows team at work is using some sort of appliance like this.  No idea if there is Linux support, but they load a driver, point it to the IP, and are able to select which USB port to map on the server.  They use it for license servers that require a USB license dongle, so that the server can be a virtual machine in VMware.

I'm playing with small system. You can think of it as SoC with LCD and keyboard. So is not much more powerful than average router off the shelf. I'm trying openwrt build for it. The image is bare with only communicating interface usb0 with IP assigned to it.

Have anyone used the IP over USB thingy. How you physically connect two machines. The only case I can think is phone to computer. But how you would connect two computers.
