[ale] bizarre ubuntu video on Dell optiplex 740 (dropbox images)

There is a chip on the MOBO.   "Integrated nVIDIA® Quadro® NVS 210S" is 
what the spec sheet says.

S706B084   0725A3  TAIWAN  GT6129.1   NF-430-N-A3 is what the chip says.

I have now progressed to where I have no login screen of any flavor, 
including text mode, and the only way in is via Ssh.
