The only lifetime service you get is one that you can run, maintain, and
update on your own servers. Beyond that, you are at the mercy of the
provider. And even then, you're still at the mercy of the software
developers, otherwise their software might no longer be upgradeable, at
which point you're stuck running old software until it dies, the hardware
dies, or you decide to migrate to something else (c.f. vmware-server a
decade ago).
