Got chivvied into a new cellphone by SWMBO.  Bought a new Teracube off
Amazon.

Pros:
Not too very expensive ( $399 on Amazon.com)
Unlocked, Android 9 with no bloatware. Android 10 is promised for later
this year.
Easily rooted with magicsk ( directions and files are on the manufacturer
site)
Worked first time with T-Mobile, just had to swap the SIM card
Spiffy cameras
Good support and an active user community
$39 repair guarantee (hope not to have to try this)

Cons:
Permanent battery
Glass back
GSM Only ( if you're on Verizon you can forget it)
Weird enough that decalgirl.com doesn't sell skins for it
Some small b00gs still (e.g.  fluff the boot password and you have to
reboot the device)

I might've preferred the FairPhone. but apparently it isn't available in
the USA.
