[ale] Alternative phone operating systems?

I know this topic has cropped up here a couple of times, so it seems to be a good audience to ask the question:
Are any of you using any of the alternative phone operating systems (LineageOS, or any of the others?).  If so, what is your experience?
Are any of them good enough to actually use daily as a primary phone?  I'm interested in phone functionality, text (mainly to receive Zabbix alerts), and maybe basic browsing.  If there were some client capable of connecting to Office 365 it would be a plus, but that is not a deal breaker.

Any experience and advice on these?
