[ale] DIY NAS vs Boxed NAS?

I built myself a FreeNAS box and I'm quite happy with it.
The system has room for 24 drives; I have 6 x 4TB in ZRAID2 so 16T usable
space.  I'm looking to buy 6 x 6TB drives early 2019 to extend the array.
