[ale] [OT] Effective, non-ripoff, cheaper-than-Comcast/AT&T Internet for apartment

Freedompop looks like it's only good for a SIM card to put in an
unlocked phone. Any idea if those can be put into a USB cell Internet
stick? I've got one of those that I think is ex-Verizon from a few years
ago that I could give her if the Freedompop SIM card can animate it.
