[ale] Network Connection - Lack Thereof

Running Mint 18.1.

At system start up, the system NIC is supposed to get its IP address via
DHCP from the router.  Doesn't.

ifconfig shows *no* eth0, just enp63s0 for the already-known MAC address.

System was working fine yesterday, but when we attempted to boot up
today, it has been going bonkers.

Ideas for me to try?
