[ale] is there a common unix/linux thang like Beyond Compare?

so, if you have an ssh connection to some remote server, and you are
looking at stuff, you have "diff".   but frankly, you really want
something like Beyond Compare, or Kompare or Kdiff.  Nothing fancy, but
at least it should work with a normal ssh window.  Is there any such
thing readily available?
