[ale] Today's lesson: rdiff-backup restores

Many years ago a bunch I worked with hired a moron to run their IT at their
home office in another state. He set up a back up system. The CFO hosed the
accounting and instead of making a series of correcting entries just
deleted the entire mess and went to restore from backups.

They didn't work. The backups were garbage. The ENTIRE financial history
was gone. And they were getting audited by their main federal contract
money source. I couldn't stop laughing until I realized my last invoice had
not been paid yet. DOH! I got that check 2 years later.

Nobody gives a crap about backups. They really only care about restores.
Testing the restore process is more important than all the rest of setting
up the backups.
