On checking just now I see the email I quoted did go to my ALE folder but it was not from the ale.org address - it was from Meetup:
ALE-Atlanta-Linux-Enthusiasts-announce at meetup.com; on behalf of; Jim Kinney <jkinney at jimkinney.us>
I'd just assumed it was from this list because I'd gotten the usual reminder that Meetup itself sends.
