[ale] Linux-like gui text editor for MacOS?

TextEdit has a plain text mode. Format->Make Plain Text
I use Coda 2 but it's not free. It has icons across the top in lieu of
tabs.
Sublime Text is very popular. It's shareware and "dark themed".
