[ale] help, windows 7 boot error

there WAS a small partition before Windows, that included the restore
files, but it isn't something you can make a CD of & boot it.. I wonder,
If I put those files in a partition & let Grub configure the drive,
would it see it?? seems to me NOT, since I know I lost that ability to
restore when I added grub.. That might be something the grub maintainers
could fix??
