:-)

No, let me rephrase. Any computer stickered "Win8 compatible" was
required to have a secure boot THAT COULD BE TURNED OFF. Any computer
stickered "Win10 compatible" is required to have a secure boot, but
Microsoft is mute about whether the hardware vendor will provide a way
to turn secure boot off. If they do not, you'll need to install a
mainstream kernel of a mainstream Linux distro who has received a "key"
from Microsoft, the only vendor of secure boot keys.

As a guy whose next daily driver desktop will be Devuan, Funtoo,
Manjaro-OpenRC or Void, this puts a premium on older mobos for me. I
don't ever want to be in the position of RMA'ing a mobo because "I
can't turn off secure boot".
