Ah, I wasn't aware the openSUSE PPC port was still going on. I just found the net install ISO for it, and I think I will give that a go...

I installed an earlier version of opensuse on a mac mini g5 I have. Haven't used it in a while, but it ran great when I used it.
There is a ppc build for opensuse 13.1, with update sources.
The biggest problem I ran into with running on powerpc is not the linux, but proprietary stuff. Flash, for example. But then that could be a plus, too.

So, are any of you doing any Linux on PowerPC? Someone gave me an old 2Ghz PowerMac G5 (one of the big full tower aluminum ones that was about $3000+ back when it was new), with 3 GB of memory, and a 1TB hard drive. It works great/has nothing wrong with it - not even a scratch on the exterior. It looks like Debian or Yellowdog seem to be the main options for PPC these days... this thing may be my weekend experiment :)
