You can almost always root your phone. It's mostly a question of how much
pain you need to go through to do it. I found some instructions for
Galaxy phones in a desultory Google search. That said, Verizon works hard
to prevent you from gaining root on your own device , which is why I am
switching to T-Mobile today, cramming scandal and all.
