[ale] Need urgent help - locked myself out with nologin

Created a user with nologin option on one of my Amazon servers. Now cannot
connect as my ubuntu/sudo user. Somehpw the nologin option applies to my
sudo user, so keep getting permission denied message. I can connect as an
ordinary user that I created, but no way to get root from there.

I mounted the drive to another server, thinking I'd just delete
/etc/nologin, and problem solved, except there is no /etc/nologin file to
be found

Help!
