While in Nepal I learned that they celebrate about 7 "New Year"
anniversaries between the Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic and other
traditions of religion, region or culture (e.g. the Tibetan calendar).
Some of the new year celebrations had bookends that extended
them into durations of a week or more. With a little effort, I figured
that one could realistically spend about half the year partying in
honor of having another new year for partying.
