Anyone have any real world experience building/managing websites using
squarespace.com? I'm interested in such aspects as:
* Performance (speed, scalability)
* Security (target site is primarily 'public informational' for a
non-profit; no ecomm immediately planned)
* Flexibility (design, features, maintenance, low-level
customization)
* Ease of use (i.e. maintenance by very non-technical users)
* Business practices (client support, integrity etc.)
* Is there a better alternative you would recommend or consider?
I've done some exploring of features on the site and pretty much came
away thinking "OMG, why /wouldn't/ we use this!" -- which is pretty much
the effect it's designed to have. Just want to see how well that
correlates to the real world.
I have a back-burner concern of getting tightly bound to their platform
then discovering we can't do something critical (w/o big-$$$) and/or
can't get off if we had to. But life in the non-profit lane does limit
your choices sometimes.
Would appreciate any 1st hand experiences, good and bad.
Thanks in advance.
