[ale] [OT] Good cable modem to connect to Comcast?

I do much the same under Uverse; I let the router and the TV boxes play
amongst themselves and the uplink side of a WiFi router; all the
desktops, laptops, and servers in the house connect to that instead of
the Uverse router.
