[ale] How do I run Android in a Virtualbox VM

Ron, when I downloaded that link it *did* come w/ the Play store and other google apps; I was able to access my gmail account and was able to download 'ConnectBot', an SSH client app I'm fond of.
It took quite a while for initial setup, but once it was up and running it seemed fast enough on a first-gen laptop i7 core, using either kvm or virtualbox.
Getting the mouse to work was a bit tricky - for kvm I had to *not* use "-usb -usbdevice tablet' (which is my standard for linux guests running X), for virtualbox I had to disable pointer integration. You should skip setting up wifi.
It's still a big buggy, and I suspect you'll have trouble w/ most apps that use 'native' libraries - few app authors bother making x86 versions.
later!
