Yeah, I've seen that on lots of shows since the beginning of the year, especially the Win8 keyboard tablets. I'm pretty sure those are paid product placements, and it smacks of desperation on MS' part to me. Non-techie consumers may still be swayed by it, of course. I don't know the current consensus in Psychology on that near-subliminal type of thing.

I wouldn't count on that. Mafia$haft stock has actually gone up once 
again making BG the richest guy around. Also there's more M$ products 
being seen on TV and movies, for example CBS Hawaii 5 0 all tech is 
M$. When they started they were using iPhones and now they've been 
replaced with M$ phones. The only noticeable area of tech that is non 
M$ are the cars as far as I know Chevy uses embedded Linux, but how 
many consumers realize that?
