There may be, there may not be.  I can't speak for Jeremy's specific
case, but I know our hands are tied to certain vendors, like or not,
because of in place contracts.  Of whatever list some one blessed,
they are probably taking into account 1) price, 2) performance (as a
company), 3) support, 4) desire to work with you (their side).

Sales people can be fickle, and decide they want less but more well
known names, and so they no bid on smaller orders.  Or they may decide
they want as many orders as possible, and spread themselves thin.

Some companies (cough...IBM) have a tendency to send an army of folks
where most of those people really have no business being there except
to answer a potential highly detailed question, should it get asked.
It looks good on paper, but in practice, I've not seen any of our
exchanges with them work out, ever, whereas smaller teams from
competitors do much better even if they don't have the answer "right
now." They usually get it to us within the meeting time, or the next day.

Hate to burst the bubble, but there's more to enterprise buying then
just "are they a better supporter of linux."
