Call for Help - ALE-NW InstallFest

We have begun planning the 4th Annual ALE-NW InstallFest for 2013!

A date hasn't been set, but I expect it will be a Saturday in late August or
early September. We are still working logistics with SPSU. The idea is to have
it before students have classwork, but after they return to campus.

We need volunteers and people to spread the word to the other groups of which
you might be a member. We will need technical and non-technical people "on the day."

* Greeters (non-technical, smiling people)
* Installers (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Puppy, ... are expected)
* Networking
* pre-event organization help
* Windows8 dual-boot and UEFI experts!
* Advertising - contact different F/LOSS and computer groups around Atlanta.
College CS and engineering departments, php, Python, Ruby, Perl programming
groups, PC-UG, Security groups, and other LUGs.

Last year we tried to use a pre-install questionnaire to smooth the installs. It
wasn't ready early or used before people showed up. I've read where some LUGs
use appointments and setup a one-on-one partnership to ensure the greatest
installation success.

We are completely open to ideas.

Please contact me off list if you might be interested in volunteering or have
suggestions. Of list please. Clearly, without a date known, most cannot
"commit." We just need to get an idea of the possible available volunteers for
2-4 hrs of your time.

Thanks for everyone's help over the years. The 1st year, we had about 30
installs. I'd love to beat that this year!

With your support, we can make it happen.
