Running Fedora 17 with Gnome 3.4 (I think, maybe 3.2), I don't usually
use the lock desktop feature but since the one time I did, I get
prompted to enter a password to shutdown. The dialog says that someone
else is logged in and only root can shutdown while there are other
users logged in. If I cancel out it logs me out. I'll go to another
virt console and log in as root and who shows me logged in (as root)
on the virt console and unknown is on the virt console running X. I'll
log out and go back to X. I've tried logging back in opening an X-term
session and do who, I'll get myself logged into the X Gnome session
and me at the shell on the x-term session. Log out using Ctrl-d and
then again do a shutdown and it'll again pop up the dialog for root's
password.

Is there something else going on that I need to check? I don't have
any remote access services enabled. Even if I did have remote services
enabled, wouldn't who show someone else logged in?
