[ale] LPIC-2 or equivalent worth it?

The LPIC-1 is also parallel to a Linux+ these days. IIRC CompTIA will award the Linux+ if you have a LPIC-1 as well.
So if you thought it was "too easy" (from your "was a joke" reference), then perhaps a LPIC-2 would be more challenging to you. It all depends does one need that qualification of a certificate from a third party to say "I know my Linux-foo" or not.
