[ale] Open Suse and the .inputrc issues

On a 12.04 Ubuntu desktop box ...
$ bash -version
   GNU bash, version 4.2.25(1)-release (i686-pc-linux-gnu)
and on a 12.04 x64 VM server:
   GNU bash, version 4.2.25(1)-release (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu)

I looked at one of the bash-related patches - it was just a config file.

Are you fully patched?
