I have the latest (well, latest before WWDC announcement) generation 11-inch MacBook Air and I have a live USB image of Ubuntu 12.04 that works on it without issue (it actually works 100% out of the box). I've also got it running on a first generation aluminum body MacBook Pro at work, no issues there either.
