If one hears "the chair is red" long enough, even though the chair is
green, it will eventually be perceived to be red. Humans are miserably
susceptible to most forms of operant conditioning. Read a book by Jacques
Ellul "Propaganda: the formation of men's attitudes"

I found a copy back around 1985 or so. It's from 1976. Well worth reading
for a high to mid-level analysis of how media is used to manipulate peoples
thinking.
