Postbooks / ERp

Along with several others are "better" to use than sql-ledger once it is
setup.

Well it seems like no-one really likes setting up an ERP.
It just depends on how much time and cash one is willing to spend.

Quackbooks 5.0 is NOT compatible with Quackbooks 2012 or anything else.

The "best" option is to "backup" everytime you use quack5.0

Of course it 'can' run in Xp and wine, but doesn' run in win7. M$ is
discontinuing support for Xp soon.

When you actually do switch, it's best to do so at year-end.
And start fresh. Most Accountants and CPA's will work with any system. As
long as it can generate the 'correct' reports. Of course quack doesn't do
cash flow statements what so ever.

So if you do a conversion you will have to run a database server of some
kind, Postbooks uses postgres, whereas Quack runs on a secured Jet.

When you actually do a conversion, you will have to attempt to export the
various lists into a text file. Vendors, items, customers, chart of
accounts, etc.

The interesting thing is that you can't get any transaction history out of
it without printing pages and pages of reports.

Best of luck to you.

Cheers from J =)
