[ale] ext3-fs error (RH 3.4.6-2)

It is NOT RHEL3.   RHEL3 had a 2.4.x kernel.  2.6.x became available with RHEL4 and of course there are later versions in RHEL5 and RHEL6.

generically it looks like a drive problem.
