[ale] SUSE package manager and install empathy

As should be evident from this thread, I wouldn't even be using RHEL
at all if I didn't have to. And I certainly wouldn't be using RHEL4 if
I didn't have to. The software that these servers exist to run is only
supported (as in, "You're not using Solaris, RHEL4, or Windows? You
are in violation of your contract and we won't help.") on RHEL4. Trust
me, it hurts.
