Well, I AM the admin. :)  Running 64 bit Centos on my Mac under virtual 
box.  I have 4 gig of ram, and 2 gig dedicated to the VM, so it's pretty 
spunky.  And, I do see the 'lm' in my /proc/cpuinfo flags line.
