[ale] How do you restart the network on Ubuntu

How are we to know the mapping from /etc/init.d/networking -> service
network-interface restart INTERFACE=eth0?

is there a "use this command for that command" doc lying around
somewhere?

I have from time to time tried "service networking restart" to only have
"no such command found" returned.
