Something with at least two cores(3+ GHz), 4GB+ ram, discrete video 
card.  If you are going to use Linux as the host (blasphemy if not), 
make sure the chipset on the MB is fully supported.  That's harder to 
not find than to find these days though.  AMD CPUs gives a good bang for 
the buck.  MSI/ASUS MB with ddr3.  DDR2 is getting to be a bit expensive.
