[ale] [OT] Android Requires Gmail email account?!?!?

Have you ever tried using Android-anything without a gmail account? I
did for a week. My new tablet was next to worthless until I gave in.

I trust Microsoft more than Google when it comes to privacy concerns. I
think most people have forgotten that Google is an advertising company
first and foremost. Just an opinion.

If you read the permissions for each Android app, it is scary. Only 3
of the 50+ apps I've loaded seemed to request permissions that are
necessary for the task. All the others over-reach. For example, why
would any media player need to access GPS data?
