I used to work on a PDP-1140 that was kinda that way.  Huge platters and
perfect for frisbee or making clocks (but too big for skeet shooting --
easy target).

Huh.  If they're anything like the old DEC RL02 drives, people used to
take 'em apart and make clocks out of the platters by putting
clockworks in the center.
