The Linux Users Group at Georgia Tech presents

"The Fedora Build System"
  by Matthew Treinish

Oct. 13th, 2010, 7:00 PM
Klaus Advanced Computing Building, room 2456

Overview:

Fedora, like any Linux distribution, is made up of packages, and with
each new release there seems to be more new packages added to the
distribution. It would be next to impossible to keep track of all these
packages by hand. Yet, every 6 months Fedora's new version is released.
To keep up with this rapid release cycle the Fedora Project has created
powerful tooling to reduce the burden on the packagers for creating each
release.

This presentation will provide a brief overview of how Fedora
packagers create RPMs for each release, concentrating more on the
tooling used, such as Koji and Mock, and less on RPMs in general.

Upcoming meetings and events:

  2010.10.30: Installfest 46
2010.11.03: "Disk Management, RAID, and LVM"

Hope to see you there!
