Yeah, I know that. But after typing in the root password 10 or 15 times
in a few minutes chasing after the >ONLY< app that will actually do what I
need done, it gets a bit tiresome. I understand the security concerns,
but I think they are a bit overblown. Anyone who manages to crash through
the firewalls is not going to need a GUI to do the dirty work. The
injected scripts certainly don't need a GUI.
So is the bit of code that blocks root from using X part of the kernel, in
which case I give up, or is it one of Red Hats little "extras" thrown in
to enhance the distro?
